mill bridge covered bridgeHistoric Covered Bridge
This historic site, an actual land grant from William Penn, our state’s founder, to miller John Herr. Enjoy a tour along Herr's 180 foot long double arched covered bridge, the longest in Lancaster County. Dated back to the time of Abraham Lincoln, admire the unique beauty of this structure and walk its spanse viewing workmanship of a bygone era.
The Mill
It all begins at the Mill. This 1738 water-driven grist mill is the reason for this village. When John Herr settled here, he chose this land by the Pequea Creek to build his mill, which was, and still is, an important center of activity.
